Subscriptions, trials and cancellation
This draft explains the intended paid business access model. The production checkout summary, plan configuration and signed terms must agree before payment is enabled.
Version 2026-08-23
Before payment
The plans page must show the price and currency, payment frequency, whether the charge occurs today, the displayed first-charge date where a trial remains, the renewal basis, applicable tax information and the meaning of one-time lifetime access. The buyer must confirm that the purchase is for business use and accept the current terms before leaving for hosted checkout.
Thirty-day trial
Eligible, approved workspaces receive the trial end date shown in their dashboard. If a monthly or yearly plan is selected while enough trial time remains, Stripe collects a payment method and schedules the first charge for the displayed trial boundary. When Stripe requires a minimum trial interval near the end of a trial, the customer receives at least one further full day rather than an early charge. A one-time lifetime purchase is charged immediately.
Renewal
Monthly access is intended to renew each month and yearly access each year using the payment method held by the configured payment provider. Renewal continues until cancelled under the displayed terms. Where Stripe-hosted checkout is used, this application stores Stripe customer and subscription references rather than card numbers.
Cancellation
Where the Stripe customer portal has been configured, an administrator can open Plans & billing to manage or cancel a subscription. Cancellation is intended to take effect at the end of the paid period, and the dashboard displays the scheduled end date after the provider confirms it. The final production configuration and cancellation journey must be tested before this statement is relied on. Access and required exports should be completed before the displayed end date.
Failed payment and pause
If a recurring payment fails, the workspace shows a payment warning and any available grace end date. Billing details can be corrected in the Stripe portal. An owner-authorised billing pause does not itself pause or extend a contract unless expressly confirmed.
Refunds and one-time access
The final refund rule must be confirmed by the production operator and shown before payment. No wording in this draft removes a refund, credit or other remedy required by law or an agreed contract. “Lifetime” is intended to refer to the continuing hosted service for the original workspace, not perpetual hosting or the lifetime of an individual, and transfer rights are governed by the final terms.
